On 10th. May 2009 we went by a coach to our destination, Stratford-upon-Avon.
Three teachers from our school were with us. We began our trip at the school in Marksuhl on Sunday evening. On Monday morning we arrived Calais in France.

There we went on the ferry to Dover. We had breakfast and we can go on deck from the ferry, to see the sea.

Our first stop was a visit to Windsor. There we had a city sight-seeing tour of Windsor and Eton. We saw Windsor Castle, a thousand-years-old fortress. Together with Buckingham Palace in London it is one of the principal official residences of the British monarch. Queen Elizabeth spends many weekends of the year at the castle, using it for both state and private entertaining.

Then we went to Eton, to the Eton College, where the princes of Wales had learned, William and Harry.

In the evening we arrived at Stratford-upon-Avon. Our guest-families met us. We introduced mutual and hand over little presents. After the dinner, we were so tired that we slept till the next morning.
The next day, we had a city sightseeing tour of Stratford. There was so much to see in Stratford. We visited Shakespeare´s Birthplace and other sights. In the afternoon we visited butterfly-house, with spiders and little reptiles.
A group of us visited the bird park, with parrots, penguins, owls and many colourful birds.
On Wednesday, we went by bus to port Bristol. We had visited the town, the Bristol Cathedral and the house “Red Lodge”.

In the afternoon we had time for eating and shopping and walking to floating Harbour.
On last day, Thursday, after the breakfast, we said good-bye to our guest-families. This morning we must leave. The complete day we had a look at the city of London, the capital of Great Britain.
First we visited Madame Tussaud´s. There we met: President Obama, Adolf Hitler, Wayne Rooney, Boris Becker, Louis Hamilton, The Beatles, the Royal Family and other famous persons…
By the Tube (Underground) we went to the Buckingham Palace, to see the Changing of the Guard.
After that we walked to Hyde Park, to Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus.
Again we went by Tube to the Tower and Tower Bridge over the Thames.

In Oxford Street we had free time for eating and for shopping. In the evening 9 o`clock we met at our bus. Now we must say good-bye. The ferry brought the bus back to Calais. Punctual we arrived at Marksuhl.

days in Great Britain.
